Mother of three and practitioner of the healing artsI’m passionate about finding other means to cope with stress and pain beyond traditional and more invasive means. My wake up call was a kidney stone after completing a marathon business trip. A 15 year veteran of the international travel industry, the stress started to adversely affect my health and I decided to make a major life change.
I, like many women, have experienced less than perfect pregnancies and major weight fluxuations (50 pounds both ways within a year one time). I finally sought out stabilization, instead of perfection. I found connection and stabilization for myself via various healing arts such as shiatsu/traditional Chinese medicine, massage therapy, yoga, acupuncture, and Qi Gong. I continue to be a work in progress, committed to being mindful of the body, mind, and spirit connection. I have been greatly helped by other healing arts practitioners and I feel it imperative to share their gifts and qi with others.
I encourage all people to seek alternative paths to wellness by exploring the healing arts. There are so many modalities, something good and comfortable for everyone. The healing arts are not just for times of rare self-indulgence anymore. Massage therapy, shiatsu and other forms of body work are coming into full view as a wonderful way to take care of yourself. Receiving bodywork is indeed becoming a regular part of many health conscious individual’s routine as a part of their overall wellness plan. Many of these therapies are ancient, (like shiatsu) and they date back thousands of years and have long acted as a serious means to comfort, nurture, and promote self-healing. The key here is more prevention based rather than intervention after your qi (life force energy) is blocked thus causing some type of dysfunction.
Chi (QI) is the life force energy that flows through your body via energy channels or meridians--the more freely it flows through your body; the better you will live and function. Per Chinese medicine theory, when your chi becomes blocked, this is when health problems come to the surface, your energy is negatively affected, or worse, you become ill. My work with you is about unblocking your chi and being able to provide you with a safe place to rejuvenate, find peace, and promote self-healing. Chi Baby is about going back to the basics, back to your origins, your family, your wellness and the universal need to be nurtured and cared for it is massage for life.
